But it was a dry heat

We went to the Anza-Borrego desert one day while we were in California. The temperature raised something like 10 to 15 degrees during our hour or so car ride over the mountain ridge from Pauma Valley. It was 102 when we got out of the car! The desert looked, well, like a desert. It looked like we could have been on another planet. It was rocks and cactus and sand and mountains. It was beautiful, but only for a few minutes in the searing heat. We walked around on a short little trail, took pictures, and then got back in the car. Here are my favorite shots:
